NTN has announced the development of ULTRAGE Deep Groove Ball Bearing for ultrahigh temperature environment, with industry’s longest operating life, featuring high-speed and low-toque operation under ultra-high temperature environment of up to 400 degrees Celsius at atmospheric pressure. The new ball bearing uses a solid lubricant designed with a special composition instead of currently used fluorine grease. The new bearing features a positioning ring which has been installed between the shield and solid lubricant to assist feeding lubricant in the direction of rotation for ensuring the ideal contact conditions between the rolling element (balls) and lubricant, resulting in a smoother rotation. The new design reduced the rotational torque by approximately 1/4. Finally, the inclusion of a metallic cover over the solid lubricant will help in preventing the inner and outer rings from separating even if the solid lubricant becomes extremely worn. Its application includes film stretching machine, glass manufacturing equipment, etc.
